In a digital age is there any value in hand sketching? (Spoiler: yes)

In the digital world, is there still any value in hand sketching your design ideas? Absolutely! I’m a firm believer in the tactile aspect of hand sketching. It spurs ideas and helps in the process of developing a cohesive design. With over 15 years of digital design experience using various computer aided design software packages, I still hand draft most of my new floorplan concepts. If you want to do everything digital, then I recommend getting yourself a sketching tablet such as a Wacom, Surface or iPad tablet. These digital sketches were created using Sketchbook by Autodesk. This is a free software solution that works great with any tablet.
